 | | Are people really using "ask madden" to chose their plays? I never thought of as much of a discussion but upon learning a certain undefeated team uses madden to call their plays I wondered what people thought about it? I can see it happening when u running out of time to call a d a or even a offensive play once or twice a game but using it more than that? I thought I was calling a game against another person? Should it be banned? Should it be embraced?

There has been a lot of discussion on chat about this, so just wanted to bring onto the forum to get some feedback.
My feeling is this....If you take away the ability to manually adjust EDGE GUYS (4-3 DE or 3-4 OLB) and allow guys to user control them in pass coverage, then you MUST cover ALL AREAS.
Let me explain....if you only make the rule "not allowed to adjust or user coverage DT or DE's" then the teams that run the 3-4 get an unfair advantage.
Their packages: 3-4, 1-3-7, 2-4-5,...

| | I just played the Seahawks znd owner wherjago. Total sim guy and great sim calling owner. I've seen so much zone from owners with no man or blitzing in almost all my games. This guy was calling ever play in his book. Totally mixed it up and was such a fun game to play. Great job man.

| | just wondering what the feeling of the league is. just played the 49ers and he played the pistol formation what seemed to be atleast 80% of the snaps. he had 3 completions to WRs and 10 i think to his TEs Rivera and Davis, and he would roll out alot with his mobile qb as soon as his first read wasn't there. This game didn't seem very sim to me but I would like to get opinions from others. Maybe I'm just wrong about my evaluation. I just am suspicious of people who throw only to TEs and run pistol almost exclusively.

| | I just would like to get clarity on when it's appropriate to roll-out and when it's off limits. I have been accused of doing this from time to time, but I don't understand why. It appears that when it results in a score or when there is a loss by certain opponents is when it's an issue.
My question is what is the point in having a mobile QB, if I'm unable to utilize what makes him stand out from a pocket passer?
What is the use of even having a throw on the run trait?
This is not something that I'm constantly doing every play, not even more than a few times a...

| | So when games are in the state of a blowout....and winning is out of reach, is what this discussion is about.
First of all, a lot of guys don't ever want to think the score is ever out of reach...but that's not true. When you're losing bad, sometimes the best thing to do is realize it and capitalize on OTHER opportunities you have.
While the winning team is running the ball trying to kill the clock....we sometimes see the losing team THROWING EVERY DOWN.
NOT GOOD...and ONLY in the case of a crazy blowout this is not good.
Think about it...when do injuries...

| | So especially with the past two games (m13 and m25)....the feeling is that man works better than zone.
So we preach to mix up coverages....and you should. But realize this guys...with football strategy if an offenses struggles mightily against man and does great against zone....why should the defense play 50/50 man and zone just bc some guys think thats the way sim leagues are supposed to be?
Yes mix up coverages.....BUT at the same time football strategy and the momentum of the game dictates what's going to be called more.
Instead of thinking about the defense...

| | I've been noticing this a lot, and I'm sure most of you have as well.
Running out of the Pistol formation has been over used so far.
Powers, Stretches, Counters are killer out of the piston it seems. Really anything.
This is a warning guys.....do NOT USE THIS TOO MUCH.

| | If anybody has seen these things....or know what they are....or want to contribute their opinion about these things....PLEASE add to this.
A couple things I (and a few others) have seen that they wanted to bring up to the league:
1. DLINE Diving at snap
--I noticed it once as a Dlineman dove at my QB and got him to the ground before he could even hand the ball of to the RB on a run play. I don't know if it was a user dive or a cpu dive but it did happen. It's not something I've seen much of so I didn't think much of it. Has anybody seen this?
2. Kick...

| | MEFL Community. Just thought I'd share thoughts regarding sim ball distribution.
In many Madden "sim" Leagues, it is frowned upon to have the TE leading the Team in receptions (Especially if the TE is not considered "elite"), and to have a RB higher than 3rd on the Team in number of receptions for the season. Now this may not mirror the NFL exactly, but this is a game, and unsim ball distribution has its place with regards to "sim" style play... Now this is just my opinion, however is the opinion of notable "Sim" communities as well.
With that being said, I thought I'd highlight...

1) Since when is it considered sim to consistently line up your running back in the slot?
2) Is it considered sim to call a draw in 3 and 4 wr sets 75 percent of run plays?

The QUICK SNAP.
A lot of guys do it, they prefer it instead of taking their time at the line of scrimmage. It's an obvious strategy that hopes to NOT allow the defense to make all their adjustments and get ready for that play.
WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK? Do you think this is an UN-SIM practice?
.....me personally I don't do it much. Sometimes I'll do it on a short yardage run play....but I prefer to hot route my offense or...
