Bronco's eek Past Chargers Empty Bronco's eek Past Chargers

    Post by TheDarkConfidant

In a game where the Broncos and there high powered offense where out-gained 656 to 483 and the Chargers controlled the ball 5 minutes longer than the Broncos the difference in this game was turnovers. The Broncos forced Matt Ryan to throw 3 picks in 43 attempts while Eli only threw 2 in 37. Michael Turner ran for a game high 75 yards on 17 carries and 1 touchdown. Larry Fitzgerald had a career game going for 11 catches for 276 yards and 3 touchdowns including the game tying one with seconds left on the clock to force overtime. To start overtime the Broncos continue to work the ball down the field and get to the 8 yard line, but the Chargers tightened up an forced the Broncos to kick a field goal. Matt Ryan takes his team down the field at will throwing mainly to Larry Fitzgerald. With the Chargers in the redzone and only 1:50 left on the clock pressure up the middle caused Matt Ryan to throw an arrant pass that was picked off in the end zone by Reshad Jones to win the game for the Broncos. This was definitely a game where the Broncos had to adapt and get used to there new look offense and defensive schemes, and it showed in there play. When we talked to the Broncos QB Eli Manning he said, " We played good enough to win and we will take that, but we need to limit the turnovers and I need to make better reads". The Broncos have a few tough games coming up two of which are against the division rival Kansas City Chiefs. If the Bronco's goal is to win the division they will need to beat the chiefs in both games and hope the Raiders lose at least one more game so when they square off in week 17 they will be playing for the division.
