INTERNET CONNECTION AND DISCONNECT GUIDELINES Empty INTERNET CONNECTION AND DISCONNECT GUIDELINES

    Post by chrebet1024

First and foremost, ALL Games that Disconnect need to be reported to the commish right away.  Both teams should report it so the Disconnect Count can be edited.  At the end of each advance I will check to see which games were attempted 2 times or more to play.  I WILL COUNT those as DC games unless told otherwise.

Because the internet runs these leagues and anything can happen, the only thing we’re going to say along the lines of Disconnects is this…..any disconnect decision will go the Admins of the league for a decision.  IF BOTH TEAMS CANNOT SETTLE ON A SOLUTION, then they both need to describe the situation to the admins for a decision to be handed down.  I would advise teams to take pictures of the disconnect as well.  And when we say "Decision," this means a possibility of many things.  One will be to replay the game obviously, another might be for a team to play the CPU, another might be a CPU vs CPU game.  Depending on the evidence and the 2 owners describing the situation will determine this.  Of course this is ONLY if the 2 owners cannot decide on a solution themselves.  And when we say solution...this can mean many things. One is replaying it, another is simming it (which we would rather not do), and another might be spotting points and "re-creating" the situation in which the game got disconnected.  The choice is all yours fellas.

Bottom line on disconnects is this.....we as owners need to to a better job of coming together on correct resolutions when this happens.  Putting a rule in to replay a game if the game is out of reach is JUST NOT RIGHT.  So be civil with each other and come up with resolutions on your own without getting the Commish involved.  If the 2 owners cannot come up with a resolution....then the the commish with determine your fate.  With these specific guidelines it will be a lot easier to find out which owners pop up more in these situations and which one's run smooth games.

If there is 1 MAJOR VIOLATION THAT CAN OCCUR IN THIS LEAGUE...IT IS DISCONNECTING YOURSELF, OR QUITTING, IN HOPES OF GETTING A GAME REPLAYED.

THERE WILL BE NO TOLERATION FOR GUYS THAT DISCONNECT THEMSELVES. Because of these rules the Commish WILL know which owners have terrible reputations in this area.  If you are EVEN SUSPECTED of quitting or disconnecting yourself from a game, you WILL BE BOOTED RIGHT AWAY.

Furthermore, having a STRONG INTERNET CONNECTION is your responsibility.  Make sure you have a WIRED CONNECTION.  To make your connection even stronger you can set up a Static IP address and put your console in DMZ mode.  Very easy stuff to do and is well worth it.  This is your responsibility so no unnecessary disconnects occur.  This along with quitting will give you a POSITIVE or NEGATIVE reputation when it comes to this stuff, and that REPUTATION WILL MATTER when it comes to DC DECISIONS made by the Commish.

    Restarting Due to Lag
This should only happen on the rarest occasions, but can and should be done if lag is apparent at the time of kickoff.  You can only back out of the game though before the first offensive play of the game, and if the opening kickoff was NOT run back to the 30 yard line or further.

Any other request for restart must be agreed upon by both owners before restarting.

Everybody...please read and understand these rules.

In the event of any disconnect...it is up to BOTH owners to tell the other what they think should happen.  Whether it should be RE-PLAYED...or whether one owner should go AUTO because the game was virtually over.

Only if you CANNOT AGREE on a solution...it then comes to the commish for a decision.

We had a incident in the Reg League with Falcons and Cards.  Falcons were up 14 points with around 8 mins to go and an "excessive greiving" DC happened.  They decided to replay.  Now Otis is upset because the Cards won the 2nd game.

Just like the Cards could have conceded at that point, the Falcons also could have asked them to concede.

KNOWING THIS RULE is very important.  It's the best freaking disconnect rule there is.  Keeps the power in YOUR HANDS.
