Week 5 is here. Starting to separate the contenders from the pretenders. The Falcons hosted the Lions and it was an offensive fireworks show for the Detroit Lions. Sometimes everything goes wrong and sometimes everything goes wrong. The football gods shined upon the Detroit Lions this day and it seemed like everyone on the team was executing with deadly precision. The Detroit Lions offense had a potency that was just remarkable. The Lions scored early and often and the falcons made some adjustments in the second half and picked up some points late but the damage was already done. Here are the key contributors on Offense and defense
Quarterback Robb Wolf keeps on churning with another very impressive performance. 17/20 for 186 Yards and 4 Touchdowns with a QBR of 145.0
The running game was even more deadly with the two back committee in Lynch and Chow making every carry count.
Lynch 10 for 213 with a touchdown and 2 grabs for 16 yds
Chow had 5 carries for 76 yards and a touchdown with 3 grabs for 5 yards and a receiving touchdown.
Wolf is lucky enough to have plenty of weapons on offense and they showed up today.
Crabtree had 4 receptions for 58 yards and a touchdown
Bennett had 4 receptions for 86 yards and 2 touchdowns
Defense was not shabby either but one in particular showed up big time.
FS Barry Church had 4 tackles and 2 picks.
The Detroit Lions are playing like a playoff team but are sitting at 3-2. If they can manage to string together wins instead of win 1 and lose 1 they have alot of potential. If this offense continues to be this deadly they have a good chance to do big things.
